Fair Wind II Photo Gallery

With over 30 years of expertise, Fair Wind is one of the Big Island’s most experienced Scuba operators. Our professional guides and personalized service, combined with top-of-the-line equipment and the new Hula Kai vessel make this a first-class experience.
Divers get to enjoy various southern locations as part of our Hula Kai Snorkel Cruise. At this time, we only allow certified divers. We have new top-of-the-line SCUBA PRO gear available if needed.
The remote southern Kona Coast offers some of the most unique diving in the Hawaii, and Hula Kai is the only commercial day vessel fast enough to get you there. This means you get to dive where others can't! The water along the coast is clear year-round, often exceeding 100-foot visibility, with ocean temperatures ranging from 75 degrees in the winter to 80 degrees in the summer.
This part of the island (compared to areas North of Kona) has seen lava flowing into the ocean as recent as 1953. As a result, divers can experience steep drop-offs close to shore, amazing underwater lava tubes, tunnels and crevices.
Plus, Hawaii is one of the most geographically isolated places on earth –– over 2,000 miles from the nearest major land mass. At least 30 percent of the state’s marine animals are found nowhere else in the world.
Recent sightings include: garden eels, whale sharks, yellow tangs, black tangs, parrot fish, octopus, giant sea turtles, moray eels, eagle rays, raccoon butterfly fish, the Hawaiian turkeyfish, and several species of scorpion and trigger fish. This list goes on and on!
