Due to the geography of the Big Island, Kona is reknown for having the clearest waters in the island chain in addition to calm sunny skies. Hula Kai's maneuverability and speed enables us to take you to the most remote and secluded spots along the coast.
Along the way to your snorkel locations, enjoy beautiful and historical scenery as we travel the Kona Coast. Our captain will stop at historical areas such as Pu'uhonua o Honaunau historical park (pictured here)
For certified divers, Hula Kai offers 1-tank dives for those seeking a "deeper" experience.

Each year starting in December, the massive Humpback Whales make their way into Kona waters. Hula Kai offers whale watch tours from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM through March. *PHOTO by John Kale
Whale Watch Tours are available during whale season, December - March. Hula Kai has the ability to reach various whale locations quickly - ensuring maximum viewing time. Unique stadium-style seating is ideal for spotting whales & taking photos.
Umbrellas provide shade while at our secluded snorkel destinations - it's like your own private yacht!
The sea caves and lava tubes at Pali Kaholo are a must see! Guided snorkel tours into the sea caves are provided by our experienced crew. *Tours are dependent on water conditions.
Two staircases are provided for easy access in and out of the water. Fresh water showers are also available at each stairway.
A wide variety of marine life, beautiful coral beds, and lava tubes are just some of the exciting things awaiting your discovery!
The Moorish idol (Kihi Kihi), Yellow Tang (Lau'Ipala), Parrot Fish (Uhu), Green Sea Turtles (Honu), and more!
On Hula Kai, you may have the opportunity to encounter unique marine life such as the Whale Shark (rare for Hawaiian waters). We've also snorkeled with manta rays, turtles, and are frequently visited by dolphins.

Guests are served a tropical breakfast buffet of mini croissants, egg frittatas, fruit salad, yogurt and granoloa, tea, juice and 100% Kona Coffee. Our gourmet BBQ includes Angus burgers, teriyaki chicken, potato salad, green salad and brownies.
Enjoy a light breakfast buffet and gourmet BBQ lunch to help fuel your day.
A spectacular cruise available during the Summer months.
The Sunset Adventure finishes the day with a gourmet BBQ and complimentary beverages during the return trip as guests sit back and relax with the beautiful Kona Sunset.
