Each year starting in December, the massive Humpback Whales make their way into Kona waters. Hula Kai offers whale watch tours from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM through March. *PHOTO by John Kale
Whale Watch Tours are available during whale season, December - March. Hula Kai has the ability to reach various whale locations quickly - ensuring maximum viewing time. Unique stadium-style seating is ideal for spotting whales & taking photos.
Umbrellas provide shade while at our secluded snorkel destinations - it's like your own private yacht!
The sea caves and lava tubes at Pali Kaholo are a must see! Guided snorkel tours into the sea caves are provided by our experienced crew. *Tours are dependent on water conditions.
Two staircases are provided for easy access in and out of the water. Fresh water showers are also available at each stairway.
A wide variety of marine life, beautiful coral beds, and lava tubes are just some of the exciting things awaiting your discovery!
The Moorish idol (Kihi Kihi), Yellow Tang (Lau'Ipala), Parrot Fish (Uhu), Green Sea Turtles (Honu), and more!

On Hula Kai, you may have the opportunity to encounter unique marine life such as the Whale Shark (rare for Hawaiian waters). We've also snorkeled with manta rays, turtles, and are frequently visited by dolphins.
