One of the premier adventures in the world is the famous Kona Manta Ray Night Snorkel & Dive. It is an amazing experience. Each year thousands of divers and snorkelers from around the world visit Kona to dive & snorkel with the manta rays. The Kona Coast is one of the best places in the world to get close to and observe manta rays. Their huge 12-foot wingspans and agile movements are truly memorizing. With no teeth, they are quite harmless. Manta rays feast on tiny plankton as they swoop down through the water.
Discover underwater caves and arches. See whales, dolphins, Mantas, and amazing historical sites during cruises. Swim with an abundance of exotic tropical fish around remote reefs and ancient underwater lava flows. The options are endless!

Sea Rockets are underwater propulsion vehicles designed for the advanced snorkeler who seeks an easier mode of ‘free-diving’ to get a closer look at vibrant marine life in Kona’s famous waters. Sea Rockets enable guests the opportunity to cover vast underwater areas in a short time, seeing more extensive underwater topography along with Hawaii’s unique marine creatures including moray eels, octopus, triggerfish, yellow tang and eagle rays.
Details: Sea Rockets are currently available only on Hula Kai. All tours are guided and instruction is included with every tour. Minimum age is 18 years. Cost: $50 per half hour. Daily sign-ups available at check-in and on Hula Kai.
